The Huon River is a great source of inspiration for me and this scene is no exception. The Hartz Mountains in the background have a blue tinge to them and the Huon River on this still day is showing up some great reflections.

Here is a list of the tools and materials used whilst I created this painting :
  • Twelve Rembrandt Soft Pastels (chalk) - various colours
  • Willow charcoal for black areas
  • Red primed abrasive pastel paper
  • Aer0sol based fixative to bind colours to paper
  • Tasmanian Red Myrtle Frame
  • Double matte board for professional finish
  • Italian Beechwood full-size professional studio easel
You may notice that there are no buildings or fences in this painting. As a romantic painter I feel compelled to remove any human elements to give my work a mystical, more natural feel.
